Rental eligibility and requirements

To rent from On The Go Trailer Rentals, you must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver's license. We require accurate information at booking—your name, contact details, and vehicle information must match your identification. You're responsible for ensuring all information you provide is current and truthful.

Your tow vehicle must be capable of safely towing the trailer you've selected. This means having the proper hitch size (2 5/16" ball hitch for all trailers except the utility model), functioning brakes, and adequate towing capacity. If your vehicle doesn't meet these requirements, the rental cannot proceed. We recommend checking your vehicle's manual or consulting a mechanic if you're unsure.

You assume full responsibility for the safe operation of both your tow vehicle and the trailer during the rental period. This includes following all traffic laws, maintaining safe speeds, and ensuring proper load distribution. Reckless or unsafe towing—including racing, excessive speeding, or negligent operation—is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of your rental and additional liability charges.

The trailer is for the intended use only. A car hauler is for vehicles, a utility trailer is for general cargo and landscaping, and a deckover is for equipment and machinery. Using any trailer outside its intended purpose voids your rental agreement and may cause damage you'll be charged for.

Overloading is not permitted. Each trailer has weight limits based on its specifications. Exceeding these limits creates safety hazards and damages the equipment. You're responsible for knowing the weight of your load and confirming it stays within the trailer's capacity before departure.
